Last Thursday I had the opportunity to attend Dove’s Visibly Smooth Summer Soiree, hosted by BellaSugar and Dove, with Giuliana Rancic as the celebrity guest, at The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. It was a really relaxing event with nice music, tons of yummy cheese, open bar, manicures, pedicures, and piticures. Oh yea, it was my first ever invitation only beauty event, so I was super excited and giggly. Me? This nerdy lab tech? No way!

Nope, I didn’t mistype. They had piticures. What’s a piticure? Like a pedicure, a piticure focuses on exfoliating your pits and relaxing the areas around like – your shoulders, upper back, forearm, and hands. Okay okay, in other words, it’s a wonderful but way too short massage where at 1 point, the massage therapist hands you a Dove Exfoliating wipe to clean and exfoliate your underarms, then hands you their new Ultimate Visibly Smooth Deodorant in either Wild Rose or Natural Fresh to freshen up your pits. The massage was heaven, but like I said, way too short.

What’s so different about the Ultimate Visibly Smooth Deodorant that it warrants a party and a piticure? According to Dove, it contains Pro-Epil Complex and moisturizers that reduces your underarm stubble to keep your armpits smoother longer. Through daily use, hair is supposed to be softer, easier to remove, and less noticeable. Dove does warn that it’s not a depilatory, so while you’ll still have to shave, the time in between shaving could be prolonged.
